Dining at the Foyer

A Table for Every Hand

The restaurant at Poker Foyer Light Ningridge is a destination in its own right—a place where the ritual of dining meets the focus of the card room. Here, seasonal Australian cuisine is served in a low-lit, wood-and-felt setting that feels both intimate and alive.

The dining room is designed to complement the poker lounge, with warm timber, deep green felt accents, and brass details. Guests can enjoy a meal before a poker session, during a break, or after the final hand. The menu changes with the seasons, showcasing the best produce from the Canberra region.

The Dining Room

A Room That Breathes

The dining room at Poker Foyer Light Ningridge is designed to feel like an extension of the card lounge—warm, focused, and quietly luxurious. Deep charcoal walls, forest green felt accents, and oak tables create a space that is both intimate and welcoming.

The lighting is low and warm, with brass fixtures casting a soft glow over each table. Seating is a mix of upholstered chairs and leather banquettes, arranged to allow for private conversations. The room is separated from the poker lounge by a subtle partition, so the energy of the game is present but never intrusive.

A long bar along one wall serves both the restaurant and the lounge, offering a curated selection of wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic options. The design draws on the brand's palette of charcoal, forest green, oak, and brass, making the restaurant feel like a natural part of the venue.

Seasonal Menu Philosophy

From the Region, For the Table

Our kitchen is guided by the seasons and the produce of the Canberra region. The menu changes regularly to reflect what is at its peak, from cool-climate vegetables to locally raised meats and freshwater fish.

We work with small-scale farmers and producers within a 150-kilometre radius of Braddon. The menu is concise—around six starters, six mains, and four desserts—so each dish receives careful attention. Vegetarian and vegan options are always available, and dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.

The wine list focuses on Australian producers, with a particular emphasis on cool-climate regions like the Canberra District and Tumbarumba. Every plate is built to sit comfortably beside a glass of something considered, whether you are settling in before a session or winding down after the last hand.

Dining and Poker, Together

A Meal Between Hands

At Poker Foyer Light Ningridge, dining is not an afterthought—it is part of the rhythm of the evening. Many guests arrive early for a relaxed dinner before taking a seat at the poker tables, while others step away mid-session for a quick bite or a glass of wine.

During poker nights, the bar remains open late, serving small plates and desserts until the final hand. For private poker events, the restaurant can provide tailored menus and dedicated service. The proximity of the dining room to the poker lounge means you never miss the action—you can hear the shuffle of cards and the murmur of the room while you eat.

Our menu is designed to be enjoyed at any pace. Start with something light—perhaps a plate of local charcuterie or a seasonal salad—before moving to a main that showcases the best of the region. Desserts are classic but refined, and the bar offers a full range of drinks to accompany every course.
